The Mixtape 26: Computer Graphics

29 December 2015

This month’s mixtape comes from Computer Graphics, the new project of Alexey Devayin aka Pixelord, one of the key figures driving Russian electronic music forward on the international scene. Computer Graphics is a sound exploration of the recent past, the beginning of the computer age. The references are not straightforward, more like gentle echoes of nostalgia shining through roughness of outsider house and techno. The mixtape below titled “Cultural Mix” combines Computer Graphics tunes with the day-to-day soundtrack of a Russian city — bits of conversations and street sounds. Pixelord and Fuselab label’s founder Evgeny Shchukin define the tough atmosphere of the mix this way: “A staircase party in the eastern suburbs with nothing but Nokia 6560 phone speakers. The soundtrack to that unexplainable night car accident caught on a dash cam. Call it Yasenevo house or Chertanovo garage”.

Computer Graphics new EP We Have To Go will be out on Fuselab on the 13th of January 2016.
