The Mixtape 3: Fuselab

This month the Mixtape comes from the southern city of Krasnodar, where Evgeny Shchukin, co-owner of the Fuselab label, has put together his take on the best of recent Russian electronic music. Formerly a member of celebrated Krasnodar collective Modul, Shchukin now records bass music as WOLS and ambient under the name Feldmaus. “I don’t really like strict stylistic or generic boundaries,” says Shchukin. “So it was really fun for me to join it all together: ambient, ‘bass’ music, deep and dubby techno and house, plus some speedy juke-trap-blast things and obscure, lyrical beats-and-breaks at the end.”
