Dasha Selyanova was born in St Petersburg and runs her brand from London, but Moscow is the city she’s returned to on numerous occasions to stage her shows, and is also where she has both stockists and a fan base. Her designs are shaped by a hectic urban environment – slogans, signs, emerging subcultures – and the desire to be protected from the depression and anxiety that it can trigger. Selyanova is interested in the way that the young generation, herself included, is coping with the modern world, and ZDDZ workwear-inspired garments are the right gear for this journey.
