A festival of fresh Lithuanian electronica, contemporary dance and experimental theatre is opening for one weekend in London.

Based at Rich Mix in Shoreditch, Vilnius Takes Over strives to live up to the Lithuanian capital’s sexy new ad campaign, which sells the city as “the G-spot of Europe.”

The two-day programme plays with seductive and rebellious acts that delve into hybrid identities, from computer-generated languages to gender issues.

They include an open discussion on “Art as a Hub of Sexual Tension”, The Trans Trans Trance Theatre Show, delving into identity and hate speech, and They Live Next Door, a dance and theatre piece about a turbulent relationship between two men.

An audio-visual electronic show will also be on offer from experimental Lithuanian duo Vilnius Energy and London-based music Polish producer Felicita.

Vilnius Takes Over will take place over 26 and 27 October at Rich Mix, London. For more information, visit the Lithuanian Cultural Institute here.
