A space for dialogue: art world gears up for St Petersburg Cultural Forum

15 November 2018

Thousands of people are expected to attend this year’s International Cultural Forum in St Petersburg, kicking off on 15 November.

Now in its seventh year, the forum is set to explore “culture as a country’s strategic potential”.

More than 20,000 people took part in the forum’s public and professional programmes in 2017. This year’s event also hopes to attract locals and visitors with a placed schedule including the Europe Theatre Prize and the Theatre Olympics, as well as exhibitions, lectures and public panels.

Organisers say that they want the forum to provide a space for international cooperation.

“This is the venue where world experts can publicly share their views and experience, freely discuss the art world’s most pressing issues and controversies, and search for solutions to their problems in an atmosphere of mutual support and confidence,” they said.
