Stray cat given bow-tie and hired as assisant for Moscow library

Russia has a history of working cats. There are the cats at the State Hermitage Museum in St Petersburg to keep rodents at bay and there are cats in the city’s cat cafe, who offer up a purr and a paw to moggie-loving customers. So when a cat turned up on the front door steps of Moscow’s Novorossiysk library it was instantly hired as an assistant librarian. Kuzya, as he’s since been named, has fast become an indispensable member of the library’s workforce. The former stray gets paid in tins of cat food and has even been given a uniform: a dashing bow-tie.
