Sergei Kapkov to start new post at Moscow State University

Moscow’s former Minister of Culture, Sergei Kapkov is to head the new research centre at the economics faculty of Moscow State University, it was announced today.

Kapkov, who was the culture minister of Moscow from 2011 till 2015, will now deal with matters of urbanism as part of the Centre for Research of Cultural Economics, Urban Development and Creative Industries at the economics faculty of the renowned Moscow university, starting in September.

Kapkov resigned from his government post back in March after successfully transforming parts of Moscow, which included turning the dilapidated Gorky Park into a hipster mecca with new cafes, restaurants and, now, the Garage Museum of Contemporary Culture.
