The 2015 Anim’est International Animation Film Festival starts today in the Romanian capital, Bucharest.

This year marks the festival’s tenth anniversary, bringing a host of animation-related screenings, workshops, masterclasses and presentations to the city.

Renowned animation studios Pixar and Laika will be present at the festival. Mark Shapiro, Head of Marketing and Brand management at Laika, known for films such as Coraline and Boxtrolls, will provide fans with insight into the making of a major animation film. In addition, the festival will showcase a range of the most iconic films in the history of animation, and will present the work of local animators and musicians who have provided music for major films.

Awards will be given across six categories: international feature film, international short film, Romanian film, student film, video, and Minimest (children’s film).

The 2015 Anim’est International Animation Film Festival will take place between 2 and 11 October. The festival programme is available online.
