Moscow to mark Bulgakov 125-year anniversary with year-round events

Moscow will host over 400 events throughout 2016 to celebrate the 125th anniversary of novelist Mikhail Bulgakov’s birth.

The events will take place across the year at a wide range of venues around the city. So far, the programme includes themed tours and a Bulgakov festival, which will be held at Patriarch’s Ponds on weekends from May to September and will feature jazz concerts, among other activities. In addition, exhibitions will take place at the Bulgakov Museum, the Moscow Historical Museum and the New Manege.

Mikhail Bulgakov (1891 — 1940) is best known for his novel The Master and Margarita, which is considered by many critics to be one of the best novels of the 20th century.
