Latvian artists in Baku exhibition as part of Latvian Days festival

A group of Latvian artists are set to present their work in an exhibition in the Azerbaijani capital, Baku, within the framework of the Latvian Days festival.

The exhibition, which kicks off today, is taking place at the Heydar Aliyev Centre and is entitled Different Sea. One World. Most notably, it features the works of such artists as Alexei Naumov, Kristaps Zarins and Andris Vītoliņš.

Alexei Naumov is known for painting landscapes and is the rector of the Latvian Academy of Arts, while Kristaps Zarins is a professor at the Academy and is featured in a number of museums in Latvia and Russia. Andris Vītoliņš works on industrial themes and is also an associate Professor in the Department of Painting of the Latvian Academy of Arts.

The exhibition is taking place as part of the Latvian Days festival in Azerbaijan, which brings a host of events highlighting Latvia’s culture and cuisine to Baku. Latvian Days will take place until 12 December.

Different Sea. One World will run until the end of February 2016.
