Germany’s A Company and Carte Blanche Film have launched a joint production venture to make feature films and television series for the international market.

The joint venture, to be called Carte Blanche International, will be run by Alexander van Dulmen from A Company and Carte Blanche’s Stephan Wagner.

The company is set to work on a range of new east-themed projects, including Antalyagrad, a feature film starring German actor Til Schweiger and Russian star Fedor Bondarchuk, who are the biggest box office draws in Germany and Russia, respectively. The actors will star as competing fathers in the culture-clash comedy, set on the Turkish coast.

In addition, a high-end television series will focus on the life of Catherine the Great, while Wagner is developing Coryza, a TV series based on the conspiracy thriller Chain of Chance by Polish sci-fi writer Stanisław Lem.
