Odessa-Batumi Photo Days presents Territory//Space exhibition

13 April 2016

The main exhibition of the Odessa//Batumi Photo Days, entitled Territory//Space, will open tomorrow at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Odessa.

Running from 13 April — 1 May, the exhibition features 30 photographers and photo groups chosen through an open competition, as well as three guest participants, from nine Ukrainian cities — Ivano-Frankivsk, Odessa, Kiev, Kharkiv, Kryvyi Rih, Mykolaiv, Lviv, Sevastopol and Donetsk.

The exhibition aims to explore the theme of Territory//Space in relation to both the private and artistic and socio-political domains, examining whether territorial borders in some ways remain uncrossable and whether they are the same for everyone.

The photo series chosen for the exhibition were selected by a commission, which included Kateryna Radchenko, Tetyana Kochubinska and Olena Chervonyk.

Territory//Space forms part of the Odessa-Batumi Photo Days International Photo Festival, which was founded in 2015 by Kateryna Radchenko and takes place annually in Ukraine and Georgia.

The exhibition’s opening is taaing place today at the Museum of Modern Art in Odessa. The programme for the opening week of the exhibition can be found here.
