Moscow’s Strelka Institute for Media, Architecture and Design has announced that it will run “Guide School”, a workshop for Moscow city guides, in May.

The workshop will be held from 10 till 31 May 2016. It will include lectures on the history of Moscow, with an emphasis on architecture and engineering, ranging from the time of Yuri Dolgoruky, founder of Moscow, to the present day. In addition, participants will receive training in public speaking. During the training period participants will also be free to attend any tours run by company “Moscow through the eyes of an engineer”, which is jointly running the project with Strelka.

The workshop will equip students not only to read the architecture of any city, but also to talk about it in an exciting and engaging way. At the end of the course each graduate will present their own guided tour, and the best will have the chance of employment with the “Moscow through the eyes of an engineer” company.
