First Moscow metro-marathon to take place next week

The first Moscow metro-marathon is set to take place on 12 May.

Participants will attempt to visit all functioning stations within one metro working day — that is within roughly 20 hours — in celebration of the Moscow metro’s 81st anniversary.

The marathon route has been created on the basis of a special algorithm, developed by an analyst from Russian internet company and search-engine operator Yandex, together with metro staff.

Organisers have noted that this will be both the first and last Moscow metro-marathon, as expansions to the metro will make it practically impossible to visit all stations within one day in future.
