Gosha Rubchinskiy’s Spring/Summer collection launches in London

19 March 2013

Conceptual fashion designer Gosha Rubchinskiy’s Spring Summer collection launched on Friday in London’s Dover Street Market, the retail store founded by Comme des Garçons founder Rei Kawakubo. Rubchinskiy’s latest collection is inspired by 1930s Soviet sports uniform, Moscow club culture from the Nineties and old school streetwear. The result, he told The Calvert Journal, is a series of “uniforms for clubbing”.

The collection is the 28-year-old’s second to be sold at Dover Street Market in the past couple of years after Japanese fashion label Comme des Garçons stepped in to help him through financial difficulties. Speaking to The Calvert Journal, Rubchinskiy said of his relationship with Comme des Garçons: “My clothes are now accessible for sellers all over the world, and they’re always delivered on time and in the right quantity to stores and retailers.”
