Russian Art Week opens next Friday in London.

A bi-annual event, Russian Art Week sees Christie’s, Sotheby’s, Bonhams and MacDougall’s auction houses come together to present a series of Russian sales, while also bringing a host of Russian exhibitions and related cultural events to London.

This edition of the event will feature the Russia & the Arts International Conference, taking place at the National Portrait Gallery on 10 June, while translator Robert Chandler will talk about his translation of Russian humorist writer Teffi’s Memories: From Moscow to the Black Sea at The Society for Co-operation in Russian and Soviet Studies on 3 June. In addition, performances of Swan Lake will run from 1 – 12 June at the Royal Albert Hall and violinist Maxim Vengerov will join the Oxford Philharmonic Orchestra at the Barbican Centre for a concert on 6 June, among other musical events.

Russian Art Week will run from 3 – 10 June, with some related events extending beyond these dates. More information can be found here.
