Watch this preview of the new release from Russian underground electronic music star Buttechno

24 May 2016

Moscow-based producer Pavel Milyakov aka Buttechno is one of the most renowned figures of the Russian electronic music underground and is famous internationally for composing soundtracks for Gosha Rubchinskiy’s shows.

However, Milyakov is also a prolific visual artist. This preview of his new EPTepliy Stan, out on French label Public System Recordings, is a video work he created in 2014 - a lo-fi documentation of a mysterious journey into the urban edgelands. Tepliy Stan is the name of a district in Moscow similar to the rough tower block aesthetics used in the video. The upcoming record’s sleeve was designed using a still from the video and drawings by Milyakov’s collaborator, Yalta-based artist Volodymyr Pavlov.
