Check out the DIY Pikkpack sandal inspired by traditional Hungarian shoes

14 July 2016

Hungarian designer Sara Gulyas has come up with the innovative “Pikkpack” sandal, a DIY kit that allows you to play your part in creating a stylish sandal inspired by traditional Hungarian shoemaking.

Gulyas’ product draws upon the traditional Hungarian “bocskor” shoe, which is made up of a single piece of leather and stitching. Her contemporary take on the shoe features colourful criss-cross straps and comes in a DIY pack that allows you to stitch the material together.

“Pikkpack” was originally the Hungarian designer’s thesis project, becoming a flourishing fashion startup after a successful crowdfunding campaign.

More information on the project can be found here.
