American artist, writer and curator Aaron Schuman will present FOLK, his first monograph, at London's The Photographers' Gallery on 21 July.
In FOLK, Schuman explores Kraków's Ethnographic Museum through his own personal history. The book brings together diary entries, found photographs of people and objects and his own photographs taken in the museum itself. While focusing on cultural heritage, FOLK also examines the ways in which such heritage is collected, preserved and presented to later generations.
Aaron will be signing books in the gallery's bookshop from 6pm, and will be in conversation with writer, curator and photographer David Campany at 7pm.
FOLK is published by independent publisher NB.
