New stories: Yekaterinburg photography museum announces new residency programme

The Metenkov House Museum of Photography in the Russian city of Yekaterinburg has announced the “New Stories of Yekaterinburg” residency programme, aimed at photographers and artists working with photography.
The New Stories residency, which will open in November 2016, was the winner of the museum grant competition “A changing museum in a changing world” organised by the Vladimir Potanin Foundation. It aims to offer a non-local photographer the opportunity to get to know and capture the city, reporting back their findings to the local population.
Lasting two months, the residency is open to photographers and artists not living in the local area, with places for six Russian or international participants aged below 40 available.
Participants will take part in a range of activities at the museum, such as roundtable discussions, masterclasses, lectures and events within the local community, as well as carrying out their own creative project.
