Serbian artist shortlisted for Griffin Art Prize

10 October 2016

London-based Serbian-born artist Ana Milenkovic has secured a place on the shortlist for this year’s Griffin Art Prize, awarded to UK-based emerging contemporary artists in painting and drawing.

Milenkovic’s practice spans a wide range of media. Her work evokes surprising and diverse meanings, containing multiple layers.

The winner will be given a three-month residency at west London’s Griffin Gallery. Designed to have a significant impact on the artist’s career, the residency will equip the winner with the space, materials and support to produce new work for an Open Studio event at the end of the residency.

Also on the shortlist are Pallas Citroen, Cynthia Cruz, Olivia Kemp, Emma Papworth and Uesung Lee. All the shortlisted artists will take part in an exhibition at the gallery from 24 November – 23 December, and the winner will be announced on 23 November. More information can be found here.
