On 30 October dancers from Moscow’s Bolshoi Ballet will perform for 500 underprivileged children from the London borough of Lambeth.

Olga Marchenkova and Artemy Belyakov will dance alongside students from the London Russian Ballet School (LRBS) as part of the school’s outreach programme.

The evening is just one in a series of performances with the Bolshoi Ballet and LRBS to give young people from underprivileged backgrounds access to the world of ballet and music. The repertoire will include new works by the Bolshoi Theatre’s Andrei Melanin and Vladimir Varnava, winner of the Golden Mask, together with the ballet Paquita.

These performances are made possible by the association formed between LRBS and the Bolshoi Ballet after the sixtieth anniversary summer tour of the Bolshoi Ballet. The programme’s patron is Dame Gillian Lynne, a renowned international choreographer and director.

The performance will take place at London’s Sadler’s Wells Theatre on 30 October. For information please visit the Sadler’s Wells website, and to sponsor a child’s seat please click here.
