Want to save your Vine account? Russian app Coub knows how

With news that Twitter is shutting down video-sharing app Vine, Coub, a Russian platform that also makes use of looped short-form videos, announced yesterday that they can save Vine users' content by transferring not only videos but likes, revines and followers.

Moreover, Coub promises to the original dates content was posted on to ensure users can change platforms smoothly and keep the community alive.

“Vine may be dead, but looped videos are not,” Coub declared on their Medium feed yesterday.

Coub was created in Russia in 2012, a year before Vine. It rapidly got lots of attention in eastern Europe, joined YCombinator in California in 2016.
