Vladivostok flash mob turns ice sheet into giant paddle board

20 March 2017

This weekend a group of intrepid paddle boarders from the city of Vladivostok took their sport to a new level — why buy a board, when you can use nature’s own?

Over 30 members of the group made the most of the extreme climate in Russia’s Far East, taking over a piece of drift ice in the Amur Bay for a flash mob dance and picnic and using a drone to capture their exploits. True to the spirit of the sport, participants took up their oars to transform the ice sheet into one huge paddle board.
