In further proof that Georgian designers are reaching new heights of global popularity, Katy Perry has been spotted wearing a silver bejewelled outfit from Gvantsa and Nina Macharashvili’s eponymous clothing label MACH & MACH.

The American singer-songwriter, who shot to stardom with her popular 2008 hit song I Kissed a Girl, wore the outfit, which was from the label’s fall/winter 2017/18 collection, while performing at her Witness World Wide exclusive YouTube live-stream concert in Los Angeles.

Founded in 2012 by the Macharashvili sisters, MACH & MACH has become particularly well known for its experimental style, often producing sparkly, sequined and eccentric statement pieces. The two designers are set on building a brand for strong, fashionable women who are “career driven but still know how to enjoy life.” Their most recent Fall 2017 collection is entitled GIRL DEMOCRACY, born out of Georgia’s new, emerging self-consciousness, as it looks to redefine itself beyond its Soviet past.
