Open call: Eastreet wants your images of eastern Europe

13 July 2017

Eastreet, a Lublin-based initiative celebrating street photography in eastern Europe, has launched an open call for entries for its fourth edition.

With the goal of creating a photographic portrait of the region, reflecting its diversity and complexity, Eastreet 4 seeks candid images that depict human presence within eastern Europe’s public spaces.

Photos selected by curators Joanna Kinowska, Aleksander Bochenek and Grzegorz Ostręga will be showcased in the Eastreet 4 gallery exhibition, opening on 20 October 2017 in Lublin, as well as forming part of a public outdoor installation in the city. The exhibition will then tour, with previous editions of Eastreet travelling as far afield as Cambodia and Thailand.

Submitted photographs should be single images (i.e. not a series) taken in one of 27 eastern European countries, with photographers of any nationality eligible to take part. The open call will run until 23 July 2017. Find out more about the competition and submit photos here.

Initiated by Polish documentary photographer Tomasz Kulbowski in 2013, Eastreet is now a bi-annual event, with almost 20,000 images submitted across its first three editions.
