The account takes its name from a Russian word that means ‘non-festive’ or ‘non-ceremonial’, and that’s exactly what the photos celebrate. St Petersburg is best-known for its gilded palaces and baroque mansions, but for the locals and these well yards (called this way because they are usually closed off by buildings on fours sides) are the true symbols of the city.
