A guide to the New East

Portfolio: photographer Nastya Pirate’s dreamlike visions of night and the city

Share on LinkedIn Share via Email
Aged just 18, photographer Nastya Pirate is at the start of her career. Yet her images of youth show a maturity beyond her years. Based in Moscow, Pirate’s photography is a celebration of female beauty and fashion. But her other muse is Moscow itself, which features as a recurring presence throughout much of her imagery. The result is a dreamlike evocation of the city and the beautiful creatures that haunt it by night.
