Latvian art zine Jezga has opened pre-orders for its latest edition on love, gender and sexuality.
The magazine is crowdfunding to publish its second issue, featuring emerging art, designers championing female empowerment, and frank discussions with the Baltic’s best known drag queens.
“We’re starting to see more openness regarding sexuality, and growing support for the LGBTQ+ community, within creative circles and underground cultures in Eastern Europe,” says editor Anna Rosova, “however the mainstream acceptance still has a long way to go, both culturally and legally.”
The team are hoping to build on the success of Jezga Vol. 1, which was shortlisted in the “Launch of the Year” category at this year’s Stack Awards.
Running until 2 November, the crowdfundng campaign will let readers reserve their copy, grab limited edition t-shirts and get their hands on Vol. 1 back issues. For more information, click here.
