Go rooftop glamping in Moscow and see the city from new heights

19 June 2019

Tourists and locals looking for a slice of the great outdoors in the heart of the Russian capital have long flocked to the city’s parks and beaches. But one summer event is taking adventure to new heights with a temporary campsite perched among the Moscow rooftops.

Seven luxury tents will be available to rent on the rooftop of one of Moscow’s largest shopping malls for three weeks in July.

The transformed space — which is usually part of the car park at Moscow’s Aviapark — will be kitted out with its own swimming pool and sun loungers, food truck, open air cinema, and sports area, including a ping pong table.

Each individual tent — including two decorated in iconic Bauhaus style — also boasts a real bed, an electricity supply, and fans to keep the summer heat at bay. Booking a three-person tent via AirBnb will set you back 4500 rubles ($70) a night. The experience is running for three weeks, from 6 to 27 July.
