Started in 2012 by the editorial team of the online Russian-language magazine Locals.md, the account curates photos of Moldova posted by locals. Although most of the pics are set in the capital Chișinău, some also trace rural life in Moldova.
At the beginning, @localsmd posted urban design, but soon they switched to local staples such as traditional Moldovan rugs and Soviet murals.
But perhaps what locals love most about Moldova is its food and wine. Having been dubbed “the Soviet garden”, the country’s rich soil gives off a variety of fresh and tasty fruit and vegetables, as well as grains.
