The Cosmoscow Foundation for Contemporary Art has announced the launch of a public programme of talks about the future of the art world following the outbreak of Covid-19.

The initiative, Artistic Cosmologies: Worldmaking & The New Normals, will bring together contemporary Russian and international artists and curators in a series of livestreamed panels over the second half of May.

The talks, which will take place in English, will address the impact of the coronavirus pandemic and what “the new normal” may entail for the contemporary art world amid the prospect of long-term social distancing.

Artistic Cosmologies is part of the public programme of Cosmoscow’s annual ‘Off White’ Charity Auction. Now in its seventh iteration, the auction is set to be held in September 2020 as part of the Cosmoscow Art Fair, in Moscow’s Gostiny Dvor department store.

“Throughout the turbulent history of the 20th and 21st centuries, modern and contemporary art has been a resilient global force which has already witnessed and withstood major events,” says Mohamad Salemy, the curator of Cosmoscow’s “Off White” Charity Auction.

The first panel will take place on Wednesday 13 May, and will be livestreamed on Cosmoscow’s Youtube channel at 5pm GMT.
