Swim with wildlife beneath the ocean waves in this soothing video from Hungarian electronic duo Belau

14 May 2020

Hungarian pop duo Belau is taking viewers to an underwater world with a new video released with Danish trip hop singer Kirstine Stubbe Teglbjærg.

Tender and calming, the video for Rapture takes viewers down to depths to swim among turtles and fishes. “I wanna live light and freely,” Stubbe Teglbjærg’s lyrics start, setting a tranquil mood for the rest of the song. As the video continues, viewers realise that their journey isn’t taking place along the ocean floor, but in a pet shop fish tank — and being stuck in lockdown, boy, do we sympathise. Luckily, there’s a plot twist by the end.

“We wrote Rapture as a wish to put an end to blind toil and simply doing things without taking into consideration what our bodies and our environment really need,” Belau say. “The song expresses a longing to live life with an open heart, to be free, self-loving, and enjoy the journey along the way.”
