The UK’s annual Russian Film Week has launched a new online platform allowing audiences to watch films for free in the midst of the Covid-19 crisis.
Founded in 2016, the Russian-language film festival has taken its fourth iteration online early with Russian Film Week ‘At Home’. It includes a series of short films by emerging directors, as well as four timely documentaries centred on the challenges facing Russia’s ecology.
Delve into the fascinating lives of brown bears on Russia’s Kamchatka peninsula in Land of Bears (2019), travel to the shores of Lake Baikal to learn about threats to the lake’s unique eco-system in Father Baikal (2019), or unwind with a light-hearted romantic comedy like Karavai, Karavai! (2017).
