An online play about a Roma family stuck in different corners of Europe during lockdown is premiering today at 6pm GMT.

Taking place in English over Zoom, A European Family explores how lockdown and coronavirus have both challenged family relations and united people. As the matriarch dies of Covid-19, the three siblings and their father struggle with the news. Eventually, magic brings the family together once more.

Directed by Rodrigó Balogh, Márton Illés, Péter Illés, and written by Richard R. O’Neill, the play is part of the fourth edition of the festival Roma Heroes, taking place between 21 October–9 December.

Find out more about the festival here. The play will be available for 24 hours from 6pm GMT here.
