Ukrainian ballet star Sergei Polunin has dropped a new clip dancing to Depeche Mode’s song In Your Room.

Led by Dutch director and photographer Anton Corbijn, and choreographed by Ross Freddie Ray, the video opens with Polunin walking along a grey and empty shore, before unleashing his explosive contemporary ballet on a sleek black stage.

The release mimics the interdisciplinary format of Polunin’s 2015 dance to Hozier’s Take Me To Church, directed by David LaChapelle, which went viral and brought the artist a global audience spanning far beyond the classical ballet world.

“Working with Anton Corbijn made me able to see how he applies so many layers into different dimensions,” Polunin wrote on Instagram. “I am proud to have met him and that he suggested to dance to a Depeche Mode song, the music and voice that I love and have listened to for many years.”
