Enter the hypnotic electro-acoustic world of DJ-percussionist duo Vassilena Serafimova and Chloé
Fusing marimba beats with electronica, “Driveway” is the latest drop from French-Bulgarian duo, Vassilena Serafimova and Chloé.
The track is the first arrival from Sequenza, the pair’s upcoming album due for release later this year. Its rhythmic and aerial drops give the song an atmospheric touch, creating an immersive sound experience.
Serafimova and Chloé’s collaboration, as well as the concept for theie upcoming album, emerged during an artistic residency at Xavier Veilhan’s Studio Venezia, during the 2017 Venice Biennale. Their first joint project was meant to be a one-off live performance filmed for CultureBox, a French television’s streaming platform, until the duo decided to take their work further.
“It’s a collaboration that lifts me, and helps me to grow,” Chloé told The Calvert Journal. “Vassilena is quite open to experimentation, and to make room for a partner who will “shake up” her academic background.”
