The Calvert Journal has scooped the bronze award for Best Overall Social Presence, the first prize in the category, at this year’s Lovie Awards, competing alongside BBC, Al Jazeera, Deutsche Welle and Redfish, among others.

Winners were selected by an international jury including Stephen Fry, Vic Hayes, and Eric Wahlforss.

The awards ceremony, hosted by comedian, writer and podcaster Deborah Frances-White (best known as The Guilty Feminist) took place online yesterday, bringing together an array of Lovie winners and guests, including ABBA, Russell Brand, and Adwoa Aboah.

As part of the online celebration winners were asked to share their 7 words of the Lovie Acceptance Speeches. The phrase chosen by The Calvert Journal’s Features Editor, Katie Marie Davies, was: “Because creativity does come from everywhere.”

Set up to recognise online excellence, the Lovie Awards celebrates the best websites, apps, campaigns, and other forms of digital content across Europe.

The Calvert Journal is a six-time winner at the Lovie Awards, having scooped gold, silver, and bronze in past editions. Get to know this year’s winners and see the highlights of the ceremony here.
