You may know him as the star of Rocky and Rambo, and other such Hollywood action films, but Sylvester Stallone is more than just an actor — he is also an artist. Now an exhibition featuring the colourful, expressionistic artwork of the Hollywood legend will go on show in St Petersburg this October. Stallone, who wrote the screenplay for and starred in the Academy Award-winning Rocky, has been painting for more than 30 years.

His first exhibition opened in 2011 in a gallery in Switzerland where as a young man he attended university on an athletic scholarship. The action hero’s work will be displayed at St Michael’s (Mikhailovsky) Castle, a branch of the Russian Museum, from 27 October to 27 November.
