Major James Bond exhibition in Moscow celebrates films’ glamour and gadgets

The golden gun, Q Branch gadgets and a 1964 silver Aston Martin are all part of a major exhibition in Moscow showcasing over 500 items from James Bond films from Dr No to Skyfall.

Marking the 50th anniversary of the James Bond franchise, Designing 007: Fifty Years of Bond Style features a host of original props, sketches and costumes displayed in 12 themed rooms curated by fashion historian Bronwyn Cosgrave and Oscar-winning costume designer Lindy Hemming.

Using iconic props and costumes, including a recreation of Jill Masterson’s gold-painted body from 1964’s Goldfinger, the exhibition celebrates the glamour which has come to define the films.

This is the first major exhibition of the films’ set and production, with the franchise’s production company, Eon, giving the show’s designer Ab Rogers unprecedented access to its production archive. The exhibition is part of the UK-Russia Year of Culture and will run at Moscow’s Multimedia Art Museum until 7 September.
