Hungarian design agency wins ArchDaily award for Budapest metro stations

10 February 2015

Hungarian design agency Spora Architects has won an award from architecture website ArchDaily for their work designing two metro stations on Budapest’s newly-opened Line 4. The stations Gellért tér and Fővám tér came first in the community spaces category for the Building of the Year award, after readers were given the opportunity to select from over 3,000 projects featured on ArchDaily last year for the annual prize’s 14 categories.

Winners of the prize, selected “for their startling appearance or unique solutions to social, environment or economic challenges”, include Álvaro Siza + Carlos Castanheira’s Building on Water for the offices category, and CEBRA + JDS + SeARCH + Louis Paillard Architects’s Iceberg housing project in Denmark.
