The art of Edi Rama, the prime minister of Albania, has gone on display in Berlin. It is the latest in a series of solo exhibitions since 1993.

Rama’s exhibition has been on display at Galerie Michael Schultz since April 25. Entitled Flowers of the Calendar, it features standard A4 sheets from his working calendar adorned with colourful abstract forms and doodles, drawn during his years in various political offices. Rama has been active in Albanian politics since the fall of one of the communist regime, one of the most isolated in Europe. Before becoming prime minister, he served as the mayor of its capital Tirana from 2000 to 2011. During his tenure, the capital’s uniform grey housing blocks were painted in bright vivid colours.

The exhibition runs until 23 May.
