The first Moscow International Festival of the Qur’an will take place from 11 to 17 July.

Religious scholars and translators from a range of countries, including Iran, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Turkey and India, will deliver speeches at the event. In addition, there will be discussions, films and cartoons on themes relevant to the Qur’an.

The festival is timed to coincide with the holy month of Ramadan and will take place in honour of the opening of the new Moscow Cathedral Mosque, planned for September. The event is organised by the Russian Council of Muftis and the cultural mission of the Iranian embassy in Russia.
