On Monday 21 September Calvert 22 will host the The Friends of Arnold Circus AGM 2015, a community discussion entitled “What next for Shoreditchification?”.

Local residents and others interested are invited to this open discussion about the future of Shoreditch with Olly Wainwright (architecture and design critic for the Guardian), Lucinda Rogers (artist and local resident), and Will Palin (architectural writer & conservation director at the Old Royal Naval College), moderated by Finn Williams (Trustee of the Friends of Arnold Circus).

Discussion will centre on the impact of plans for the area, which include more than 6.6 million square feet of new development. Many of these projects are already approved, such as apartment building Principal Tower (50 storeys) and mixed-use development The Stage (40 storeys). Others are still hotly contested, like the high-rise Bishopsgate Goods Yard and the Blossom Street residential and commercial development.

The AGM will start at 7pm, and presentations by the speakers will begin at 7.30pm. Refreshments will be served from 6.30pm.

The event is free to attend, but booking is essential.
