The “Days of Belarusian Culture” festival will take place from 15 – 19 October in the Tajikistani capital, Dushanbe.

The official opening of the festival will be held on October 16, and will see a host of Belarusian performers take to the stage of the Sadridin Ayni Tajik State Academic Opera and Ballet Theatre.

Events planned include a performance by the State Dance Ensemble of Belarus and a photo exhibition hosted by the Belarusian national news agency. Visitors to the festival will also be able to attend screenings of Fortress of War, which recounts the events surrounding the defence of the Brest fortress in June 1941, and adventure film Traces of the Apostles. In addition, five Belarusian animated films will be screened.

The event is taking place after extensive discussions between Belarusian ambassador to Tajikistan, Olga Gavruk, and the Tajikistani Minister of Culture, Shamsiddin Orumbekzoda.
