Russian designer Gosha Rubchinskiy unveils new lookbook and film

20 April 2016

Russian designer Gosha Rubchinskiy today revealed his AW16 lookbook, along with a new film.

The lookbook features his “Save and Survive” themed collection, which had its debut at Paris Men’s Fashion Week in January earlier this year, while the accompanying film takes the viewer backstage and centres on the lead up to the Paris show.

In the collection Rubchinskiy cites numerous subcultures, including punks, skaters and skinheads, and showcases streetwear alongside tracksuits and turtlenecks.

The lookbook and film follow Rubchinskiy’s announcement earlier this month that in June he plans to present his SS17 collection at Florence’s biannual menswear trade show Pitti Uomo.

“I wanted to do something unexpected,” Rubchinskiy stated in an interview with The Business of Fashion. “A Russian designer showing streetwear at Pitti — that’s definitely something people don’t expect to see.”
