St Petersburg is set to become home to a new Museum of Emotions.

According to the organisers behind the project, the interactive museum will help to develop its visitors’ “emotional literacy” by provoking intense positive and negative emotional reactions.

While details of the exhibits have yet to be made public, a selection of photos shared on social media site VKontakte suggest that visitors will be able to enjoy a mirror room, picture themselves lying in a coffin and relax in virtual meadows full of daisies.

St Petersburg artist Alexei Sergienko, who is behind the project, stated that the museum’s exhibits have been constructed to trigger as many human emotions as possible.

“In one hour, people will be able to feel more than they would in their entire lifetime,” Sergienko said.
