Polish TV drama series The Border (Wataha in Polish) is set to make its British debut on Channel 4, becoming the first Polish drama series to be shown on British terrestrial TV, according to the channel.

While the exact date of the launch has yet to be announced, it is anticipated that the first of the six episodes will be broadcast on Channel 4, and the rest will be available on the “Walter Presents” World Drama section of Channel 4’s VOD service.

Directed by Michał Gazda and Kasia Adamik for HBO Poland and launching in Poland in October 2014, The Border centres on border guard captain Wiktor Rebrow. The only survivor of a bomb attack in which his entire unit and his girlfriend are killed, Rebrow must prove himself innocent when accused of plotting the murders.
