22 June 2016

25-year-old Polish photographer Michal Siarek has come out on top at the FIDAL Youth photography awards with a fascinating series on Alexander the Great.

Siarek beat around 500 other entries to take home the prize with his project, which took him to Macedonia to explore attempts by the government to make Alexander the Great the centrepiece of national identity.

The young photographer takes home a grant of €5,000 (approx. $5,600) to help him complete his project, as agreed with the competition’s panel.
