The “Hermitage Moscow” contemporary art museum is due to open in 2020, overseen by St Petersburg’s State Hermitage Museum.

Located in the Moscow ZiL industrial zone, the 13,000 square metre site is being designed by architect Hani Rashid of New York-based Asymptote Architecture. Russian real estate development company LSR Group will begin construction next year.

“The museum will exhibit works from the Hermitage collection, as well as works gained through exchanges with collections in other countries. The project’s curator from the Hermitage will be Dmitry Ozerkov,” said Andrey Molchanov, the founder of LSR, in a press statement.
